The Pier 9 Residency Program gives creatives, innovators, and manufacturers a chance to work with us in our advanced digital fabrication workshops at Autodesk. Our residents explore every stage of the process of making things, from digital model to real-world physical objects. Together, we’re discovering ways to advance 3D design and fabrication technologies, to change design, engineering, and manufacturing as we know it.

Pier 9 provides residents with the tools and resources to expand their practice in a diverse creative community. Our goal is to explore ideas that change or challenge the way things are made and how this impacts the world around us.
Residents participate in our thriving community through skill sharing workshops, meetings, partner opportunities, and guest talks.
Pier 9 offices are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Residents have access to workshops during business hours and weekends pending availability of safety monitors.
Residents own all of their intellectual property and physical work created at Pier 9 during their residency.
Residencies last for a duration of 4 months.
Residents receive a $2,500 monthly stipend, plus a budget for project supplies.
Residents must publish their work on Instructables.com, and make a presentation at the close of the residency.
Residents create their work locally at Pier 9 and share their process on Instructables.com.
