Managing and Resolving Site Issues – Practice Exercise
Task 1: Adding Issue Root Cause Card to the Project Admin Home Page
1. Log on to the BIM 360 Project Admin page for the current project.
2. From the Module Selector on the top left, activate the Project Home page, as shown in the figure below.
3. From the top right of the page, click Customize; the Card Library button is displayed.
4. Click on the Card Library button; the library of cards is displayed, as shown in the following figure:
5. In the Search field at the top, type root; the Issue Root Cause card is displayed, as shown in the following figure:
6. Select the check box of this card and then click Add Card at the bottom left; the card is added at the bottom of the home page.
7. Drag and drop this card as shown in the video.
8. On the top right, click Save; the card is now added to the Project Home page, as shown in the following figure:
Task 2: Filtering Issues in the BIM 360 Mobile App
1. In the BIM 360 mobile app, log in using the user who needs to action the site issues.
2. From the bottom toolbar, tap on Issues to view all the issues, as shown in the following figure:
3. At the bottom of the Issues panel, tap on Filters.
4. In the Assignee area, tap on Me.
5. In the Status area, tap on Unresolved.
6. From the Root Cause list, tap on Design > Code Compliance.
7. Tap Done in the Filter panel; the issues matching the filtered criteria are displayed in the Issues panel, as shown in the following figure:
Task 3: Actioning the Issue and Changing its Status using the BIM 360 Mobile App
1. In the Issues panel, tap on any of the open issues; it is displayed in a separate window, as shown in the following figure:
2. Assuming that the issue is resolved on site, tap on Activity in the issue window; the activities related to the selected issue are displayed.
3. At the bottom of this window, tap on the comment field and enter the comments about fixing the issue, as shown in the following figure:
4. Tap on the camera button below the text field and take a photograph of the fixed issue.
5. Tap Done and then attach the photo to the issue.
6. Tap on Send on the right of the text field to add the information to the issue.
7. From the top right in the issue window, tap OPEN; the Answered status option is displayed, as shown in the following figure:
8. Tap Answered; the status of the issue is changed and the color of the top bar is changed to Blue. Also, the Activity tab shows the related activities, as shown in the following figure:
9. Similarly, action the remaining site issues.
Task 4: Resolving the Issues on the PC
1. Log on to the BIM 360 Document Management window on the PC.
2. From the top, click Issues; all the relevant issues are displayed in the window, as shown in the following figure:
3. Click on one of the answered issues; it is opened in a separate window, as shown in the following figure:
4. Review the information in this window.
5. From the top right, click ANSWERED; the additional issue statuses are displayed, as shown in the following figure:
6. Select Closed from the list.
7. Enter the comments about closing the issue, as shown in the following figure:
8. Click Done; the issue status is updated to CLOSED.
9. Similarly, close the other answered issues.
