Morehshin Allahyari

Morehshin Allahyari is a new media artist and art activist born and raised in Iran before moving to the United States in 2007. Morehshin has been part of numerous exhibitions, festivals, and workshops around the world. Her work has been featured in Rhizome, Hyperallergic, BBC, Global Voices Online, VICE, Creators Project, Dazed Digital, Huffington Post, and NPR, among others. As part of her residency at Pier 9, she is working on a series of digital fabrication and 3D printing projects called Material Speculation: ISIS focused on the reconstruction of artifacts destroyed by ISIS in 2015.
