& Construction

Integrated BIM tools, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
& Manufacturing

Professional CAD/CAM tools built on Inventor and AutoCAD
This course introduces the core concepts, workflows, and best practices required to create, manage, and coordinate MEP BIM project models while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams using industry-standard BIM workflows.
Designed to equip you with the foundational knowledge needed to participate in BIM-driven MEP projects, you’ll explore how MEP systems are represented as intelligent, connected elements in Revit, how project information is embedded within models, and how BIM supports coordination, constructability, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
You’ll also explore how Autodesk Forma Data Management serves as the common data environment for sharing, reviewing, and coordinating BIM models across disciplines. Using 3D views and coordination tools, you’ll learn how BIM models are reviewed during design and construction to identify and resolve spatial conflicts between MEP systems and architectural or structural elements.
Throughout the course, you’ll engage with real-world scenarios and hands-on exercises, building confidence in understanding MEP BIM workflows and coordination practices. By the end of the course, you’ll have a solid foundation in BIM concepts for MEP design, preparing you to progress to more advanced system modeling, analysis, and coordination workflows.
This course is part of the BIM Foundations for Education series of courses at Autodesk.
