Frequently asked questions

Are all subscriptions eligible for self-service management in Autodesk account?

Self-service management features in Autodesk account are limited in some countries.

If these options are not visible to you in account, or the button options are grayed out, this indicates that self-service options are currently not available in your country or your specific subscription.

To adjust your subscription, please contact our sales team or an authorized Autodesk partner.

Why don’t I see the “add a seat” option in Autodesk account?

This feature is not available in all regions or for discontinued products. If the ‘add seats’ option doesn’t appear in your account, purchase a new subscription and align your end dates during checkout.

How do I purchase or renew using a self-serve quote?

You can create your own quote for new purchases or renewals with our self-service options. Here's how:

For new purchases: During checkout, select the "Switch to quote" option.

For renewals, (within your renewal window): Choose "Renew" and then select the "Create a quote" option.

Your quote will be emailed to you and also available in your Autodesk account.

Can I add a seat to my subscription at any time?

Yes, you can add seats to your eligible subscription at any time. The cost of the seat will be prorated based on the time remaining on your existing subscription. The added seats will have their own subscription ID, but all seats will renew at the next subscription renewal date.

Can I cancel an automatic renewal?

Most subscriptions automatically renew to ensure you have continuous access to your software. If your subscription is on automatic renewal, you will be charged for a new subscription term on the renewal date listed in your Autodesk Account. You can turn the automatic renewal off at any time before the renewal date. You will keep access to products and services until the renewal date, and you won’t be charged for a new term. If you want to cancel and return a recently purchased subscription, go to the Autodesk Assistant

How do I cancel my renewal if I purchased directly from an Autodesk partner?

Return policies for purchases and renewal charges from third-party sellers such as retailers or authorized Autodesk Partners can vary by seller. If you’re not able to turn off your auto-renewal for your subscription in your Autodesk Account, contact your Autodesk partner directly.

Where can I get technical support?

Visit our support page to explore self-service resources, or chat with our AI-powered Autodesk Assistant for solutions and to connect with an agent when needed.

Can I switch products through quotes?

Yes, most products can be switched during the renewal window depending on eligibility and applicable terms. The switch will take effect on your renewal date and must be done through a partner quote, not via self-service. To switch products, contact your Autodesk partner or Autodesk sales for a quote.

Can I change my term anytime?

Yes, most subscriptions allow you to initiate your term change through self-service in Autodesk account, or by requesting a quote. Any term changes will take effect at your next renewal date.

What is co-terming?

Co‑terming lines up your subscriptions to one renewal date, so billing and planning are simpler. You can co-term subscriptions in two ways: align the end date of a new subscription with your existing subscriptions, or, during the renewal period, extend the end date of your current subscription to match other subscriptions. If extending an existing subscription, contact Autodesk sales or your Autodesk partner for support.

How does co‑terming work when I add or reduce seats for a subscription?

Adding seats: New seats are co‑termed to your current renewal date with prorated pricing. The new seats will receive their own subscription ID. Adding seats may not be available for all products or countries.

Reducing seats: Changes take effect on your next renewal.

How does co‑terming work for multi‑year subscriptions?

Multi-year subscriptions are billed annually. When you co-term a new multi-year subscription with an existing one, your first bill is prorated to match the existing subscription's next anniversary date. After that, billing happens on each remaining anniversary date. Anniversary dates are the annual billing dates for your multi-year subscriptions, or annual subscriptions purchased or renewed for more than 12 months.

Can I co-term an existing or new subscription to an existing renewal date?

Existing subscription: Yes, contact your Autodesk partner or Autodesk sales for a quote to align your existing subscriptions to one renewal date.

New subscription: If you are purchasing a new subscription and already have an existing subscription with the same term length, such as annual, you can align the new subscription to your renewal date during checkout.

How do I co-term existing subscriptions using an extension?

If you have two or more subscriptions that you’d like to align to the same renewal date, contact your Autodesk partner or Autodesk sales for support.

Guidelines for extensions when aligning existing subscriptions:

  • When extending a subscription, the subscription must align to a subscription with a future end date. Backdating is not permitted nor are refunds given.

  • Subscription status cannot be 'canceled.'

  • The underlying product(s) is eligible for renewal (and not in an end of renewal status).

  • Subscription is extended to align to the subscription end date of an existing subscription.

  • You can extend your subscription for up to 39 months from the transaction date or 36 months from the subscription start date for annual or three-year subscriptions, whichever comes first. The transaction date is the day your partner created your quote.
