Calculate renewable energy potential using Solar Analysis in Revit

In this video, you’ll learn how to use the Autodesk Solar Analysis for Revit extension to calculate renewable energy potential. Solar Analysis provides in context solar radiation analysis results to help you track solar energy throughout your design. The tool provides automated settings for specific study types, as well as customizable options. Solar analysis uses surfaces on the model. A surface can be created from standard architectural elements (walls, roofs, floors, and ceilings) or conceptual masses.

After completing this video, you’ll be able to:

  • Produce accurate solar energy potential results based on project location.
  • Convert the results into a value that can be subtracted from the pEUI.
  • Communicate and document the results to clients and stakeholders.

Note: This exercise uses an Autodesk extension which needs to be downloaded and installed from manage.autodesk.com.
