Course Module

 Learn to create a new setup in an existing program using a new vise model with soft jaws.  You create a program to finish machine OP2 of a part and validate stock removal with simulation.  You create all required documentation and g-code, load and verify a program in machine control, machine a part and perform a final inspection.

Learn to use toolpaths to finish various areas of the caliper reviewing in-process stock and tool changes for efficiency.

Course Module

Learn how to use simulation to validate stock removal from a single setup as well as multiple setups to ensure all stock has been removed.  Learn to review machine simulation and create final documentation and output g-code to finish machine a part.

Learn to set up soft jaws on a machine, set up the WCS location and verify all tools.  You learn how to load a program, proof, and run a part.

Final part inspection for the brake caliper

Learn how to perform an inspection on a machined part to verify accuracy to the blueprint and surface quality and completeness.  You will learn how to set up inspection in Fusion 360 and manually enter inspection values to ensure they are within spec.  You will also learn how to set up a Probe Geometry cycle that can validate feature size and spec during the machining process.

Machining best practices supports you in the CNC machining of the model engine rod soft jaw.  Review the process plan and cutting data for general guidelines to support you in this project. The sample setup sheet provides information about how the part was machined.  Post machining, inspect your part while reviewing the supplied detailed drawing, and populate the inspection report to verify acceptable part tolerances.
