Parametrix Desired to Implement BIM deliverables for their Water, Wastewater, and Process projects. They wanted to deliver data rich models to clients and communicate design intent clearly at all stages with accessible 3D models. Parametrix recognized that at the core, this would mean the implementation of Autodesk Revit, along with training and support.

Project goals

The goal was to fully implement BIM delivery in the process group so that they could lead competitors in new technology adoption and offer data rich models to their clients. To that end, Parametrix desired training, customization, a custom program and ongoing support.

Solution

Autodesk Solutions Used: Revit, BIM 360 Docs, BIM 360 Design, Dynamo, and Revit API’s CAD Masters delivered the following services: 1) In-person and remote training in Revit and BIM 360 2) Technical support process for Revit & BIM 360 issues 3) Revit staffing – CMI staff provide expert Revit design services to fill gaps in Parametrix production staff availability 4) Custom programing to tie BIM data to an external database. Development began in Dynamo and was migrated to .NET using Revit API's.

Business outcome

CAD Masters was able to deliver the training, implementation, support, and customization services Parametrix needed to fully implement Revit in a cloud environment using BIM 360. The Parametrix team delivering these process projects has been working almost exclusively in Revit since near the beginning of the project, utilizing the custom program to tie in with their external database. This has allowed Parametrix to be a leader in embracing new technology and win more work with happier clients.
