Editing the Fireflow Demand Table

Step-by-step:

The fireflow demand table allows you to set up overrides and block edits of various fireflow fields in a database editor before running a fireflow simulation.

  1. Open the appropriate .aprx file in ArcGIS Pro.
  2. From the ribbon, InfoWater Pro tab, Project panel, click Initialize.
  3. On the ribbon, InfoWater Pro tab, Analysis panel, OR from the Model Explorer, click Run.
  4. In the Run Manager, click the Fireflow tab.
  5. Click Edit Fireflow Table.

  6. In the DB Editor, select the Generate Model Output column to highlight it.
  7. Right-click the column header and select Block Editing.
  8. In the Block Edit popup, in the Value type box, type “Yes”. (This field is case sensitive, so make sure that you type “Yes” with an uppercase Y.)

  9. Click OK.

By applying Yes to the Generate Model Output column, hydraulic results will be available based on all junctions representing hydrants. If the Generate Model Output value is No, then the hydraulic results will not be generated for the corresponding hydrant.

Note: The Residual Pressure and Design Pressure columns allow you to set unique residual pressure and minimum design pressure values that will override the global values set in the Fireflow tab of the Run Manager.

  1. Click Save to save your edits.
  2. Exit to close the DB Editor.
  3. In the Run Manager, click the Fireflow tab.
  4. Ensure that Run Fireflow on Domain only and Duration are NOT enabled.
  5. Click Run.

The Fireflow report opens automatically in the Report Manager. The report that opens is the standard fireflow report. The hydraulic reports must be opened manually.

  1. If you are prompted to switch to the most recent output data, click Yes.
  2. In the Report Manager, click New.
  3. In the Output/Report Graph dialog box, under Available Output Sources, select *Active*.Fireflow.
  4. Click the Tabular Report tab.
  5. Select Fireflow Junction Report.
  6. Click Open.

This report contains results for all junctions. The hydrant for which the results are shown is specified by the drop-down at the top of the report.

Note: Every hydrant in the drop-down is a single simulation that opens that hydrant. The junctions in the report are all other junctions that are not being simulated as a hydrant at this point. So, by choosing a hydrant that you want to see the results for from the drop-down, the table shows you the effect that hydrant opening had on the system. Again, this is only available because you entered Yes in the Generate Model Output Boolean fields in the table.

To review the fireflow pipe report:

  1. In the Report Manager, click New again.
  2. In the Output/Report Graph window, under Available Output Sources, select *Active*.Fireflow.
  3. Click the Tabular Report tab.
  4. Select Fireflow Pipe Report.
  5. Click Open.
  6. View this report.

  7. When finished, click Hide to close the Report Manager.
