  1. Define your organization’s Recovery Point Objective.
    • How frequently does data need to be backed up?
  2. Define your organization’s Recovery Time Objective.
    • How quickly can be restored when needed?
  3. While defining what Data Recovery (DR) looks like for your organization, keep the following questions in mind:
    • Who will be responsible for what?
    • How will back-ups be stored?
    • What can be relied upon for DR?
    • How often do files need backing up?
      • E.g., what is tolerable data loss?
    • Which files are most important?
    • How fast can back-ups be implemented?
