Organizing drawings within a project

Organizing drawings within a project - Exercise

  1. To structure your projects, create folders and subfolders within the Project Manager. You can create an unlimited number of folders listed to multiple levels.
  2. For this demo, create two folders: Panel and Schematic. Within the Schematic folder, create two subfolders: Feeder and Control.
  3. To move multiple drawings at once, hold the Control or Shift key to select several drawings and drag them into the saved folders.
  4. To change the order of the drawing in the project, you have two options:
    1. Drag and drop the drawings within the Project Manager. If you would like to place them inside a folder to a specific spot, expand the folder first. Otherwise, they will be added to the end.
    2. Right-click on the project name and select Sort.
  5. Choose the folder placement and sorting preferences within the subfolders. It is also possible for you to sort only the specific subfolder.
  6. If needed, select the drawings by folder when running the project-wide functions like title block updates, drawing list reports, and publishing, which allows you to run a targeted batch operation with ease.
