Introduction to Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D

With the advent of cloud modeling and cross company utilization, Civil 3D can run in the cloud.* Because Civil 3D is considered a “vertical” product, (meaning, it is based on the native AutoCAD framework) file sharing between multiple parties in the same model historically has not been possible. With Autodesk Collaboration for Civil 3D, however, drawings can be opened and locked automatically just as if the files were stored on a server or locally.

*Note that if you know that your Civil 3D content should be stored for collaboration at the onset of a project, you would use the workflows shown in this section first to create your content.

After completing this video, you’ll be able to:
•    Install Desktop Connector.
•    Map a project.
•    Access Autodesk Docs within Civil 3D.
