Timbermeister Increases Effectiveness of Special Design and Furniture Production

Timbermeister Increases Effectiveness of Special Design and Furniture Production

Customer challenge

Timbermeister OÜ is an Estonian company established in 1992 that produces interior equipment and furniture. Its products are the result of special design and in-house manufacturing. The company wanted to have one solid end-to-end workflow from idea to production.

Project goals

The primary project goal identified with Timbermeister OÜ was to make the design process more effective and better connected to production.

Solution

After a careful analysis of the products available on the market, the company decided to choose Autodesk Inventor software. To help with designing special elements for interior design in Inventor, Woodwork for Inventor was chosen, along with CAM from a Lithuanian company, CELI. Having good product design features, these products have been implemented in many Estonian furniture producing companies and have proven their value. Training of designers and production engineers was also part of the project. Timbermeister was also able to take advantage of a program called “Get digital”, courtesy of Estonian foundation HEAK SA that gives financial support to companies to help them take advantage of digital technology.

Business outcome

As a result of implementing Autodesk Inventor and Woodwork for Inventor and receiving the requisite training, the design process was faster and easier and gave all the needed information for production using CAM machinery.

Conclusion

“Implementation of Woodwork for Inventor in cooperation with Autodesk Inventor gave an extra boost to our design process and production preparation was a much easier and straight-forward process, giving savings in time and money,” said Tõnu Hiob, member of the board of Timbermeister OÜ.

Eesti Energia Chooses CAD360 Group for Managing Corporate Licenses

Eesti Energia AS is a public limited energy company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. As the world's biggest “oil shale to energy” company, it has several subsidiary companies operating in energy production, distribution, and sales, each of which uses a lot of software licenses, over 100 Autodesk product seats among them. Lately the shift to green energy has necessitated a lot of changes in their operations. For the best cooperation between designers in these companies, Eesti Energia AS decided to handle purchasing, distribution, and managing of software licenses at the main company. This, however, did not match with Autodesk licensing policy.
