Sprinkler Service Creates the Highest Quality Projects of Firefighting Systems with Revit

Sprinkler Service Creates the Highest Quality Projects of Firefighting Systems with Revit

Customer challenge

Aleksey Potapenko, Lead BIM Engineer and Artur Laizans, Head of Purchasing at SPRINKLER SERVICE SIA, began to explore new technologies some time ago as part of work to improve the quality and accuracy of their design projects. They understood that this step could help not only strengthen the company position in the local Latvian, local market of the design projects of fire protection systems, but also help the company reach a new level.

Project goals

As the leading design company of fire protection systems in Latvia, SPRINKLER SERVICE had to create design projects with high quality and accuracy while working remotely as a team during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Solution

It was decided to implement BIM technology for designing fire extinguishing systems in order to improve the quality and accuracy of design projects. New technologies make it possible to make transparent and visually understandable many solutions that, when using 2D modelling and the BOQ compilation process, separate from design, were complex and obscure. The benefits of Autodesk Revit allow you to update models on the fly, and the use of cloud storage gets rid of the vicious practice of sending information through email.

Business outcome

Over the past year, several fire protection design projects, which are complex in terms of engineering networks, have been completed in the centre of Riga by SPRINKLER SERVICE. Moreover, the Latvian Rail Baltic segment is being designed, where without such BIM tools as the design stage, it would be difficult to plan the dismantling and installation work of various stages of the project.

Conclusion

SPRINKLER SERVICE was one of the first to use and implement BIM technologies for the design of sprinkler fire extinguishing systems. Thanks to that, the quality and accuracy of design has improved, and with the increase in quality and accuracy, the total number of BIM projects has increased, and the number of interested customers is rising.

Eesti Energia Chooses CAD360 Group for Managing Corporate Licenses

Eesti Energia AS is a public limited energy company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. As the world's biggest “oil shale to energy” company, it has several subsidiary companies operating in energy production, distribution, and sales, each of which uses a lot of software licenses, over 100 Autodesk product seats among them. Lately the shift to green energy has necessitated a lot of changes in their operations. For the best cooperation between designers in these companies, Eesti Energia AS decided to handle purchasing, distribution, and managing of software licenses at the main company. This, however, did not match with Autodesk licensing policy.
