Customer challenge

Kayra Metal were using Product Design Suite 2015 product. Because they did most of their projects on AutoCAD, their parametric designs and assemblies were not organized. Our customer wanted to design regular part designs, create assembly structures and to be able to operate the mobile systems in these assemblies. Since they usually produce aluminum profiles with special sections, they needed to create their own profile libraries and perform load analysis on the design.

Project goals

Kayra Metal wanted to create an Inventor library specially for existing aluminum profile sections. They needed to learn how to use animated presentations for the system. They determined design optimization and engine power by testing the loads on the mechanism. They wanted the same system to be positioned in different places.

Solution

Autodesk AutoCAD and Fusion 360 product solutions are provided to our customer with the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection product. While some team members perform parametric designs with Inventor Professional 2021, others do mechanical and structural planning with AutoCAD Mechanical and Architecture. Our customer provides Fusion 360 to support Inventor designs with the help of Autodesk Desktop Connector as part of the new engineering team.

Business outcome

On Inventor Professional, all of its beam sections were transferred into library and standard works were taken to the Factory Design Utilities library and started to be used on project layouts. Animations of these projects became available to customers with Navisworks Manage. Important mechanism studies in Inventor were animated with dynamic simulation. Concept designs were created in Fusion 360 and started to take their places in the main models.

Conclusion

With the integration of Autodesk products with each other, projects were created quickly. The expansion of custom libraries in Inventor and automatization with i-Logic enabled rapid bidding in projects. Design verifications were made with static and dynamic analysis and the final version of the projects was created as animation.
