Metgór Implemented Fusion 360 with Simulation Extension

Metgór Implemented Fusion 360 with Simulation Extension

Customer challenge

Polish company Metgór deals with the manufacturing of steel elements based on technical documentation for the mining industry. They services include repairs and overhauls of subassemblies and devices used in diesel transport equipment.

Metgór implements projects that require meeting specific conditions, related to the underground mining industry. The nature of the services provided requires an efficient analysis of the contractor's needs and improving of design, technology and manufacturing process.

Project goals

The previous tools and methods  of designing and manufacturing did not allow for shortening the whole process - from analysis, offers preparation through the CAD - CAM design to the final product. Metgór was looking for for a solution of a complete CAD/CAM system that could be purchased as a subscription and would allow extending its functionality in the future.

Solution

The implementation of Autodesk Fusion 360 – CAD/CAM cloud solution enables us an efficient and easy preparation of technical documentation. Fusion 360 allows us to download the designed model to the CAM technological module easily and then transfer it to our Turning Center.

We currently use two subscriptions of Fusion 360. Meeting the requirements of contractors we are considering further development of our CNC Center, that will allow us to extend the functionality of Fusion 360 with Machining Simulation Extension.

Business outcome

The Fusion 360 allowed METGÓR to speed up the production process and optimize costs in comparison to their previously used CAD/CAM system.

Conclusion

The Fusion cloud access to data enabled us to make faster decisions throughout the production process. Support in the implementation of Fusion 360 was provided by CADVISION – PA NOVA Group. Thanks to cooperation with the supplier, we were able to quickly train our designers, technologists and operators of CNC machines.

Optimize Design Processes and Increase the Efficiency of Cross-Industry Cooperation with the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering and Construction Collection

PANOVA STUDIO treats every project as a new challenge. The design process is complex and interdependent on many factors. Therefore, when embarking on the Eco City Katowice project, the office had to anticipate and plan the entire design process. They knew from the beginning that they wanted to use the capabilities of the Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection software to complete such a project. The company wanted to develop a method of cooperation that would streamline the design process at the stage of construction design, detailed design and coordination of progress on site. The first stage of work, which included an analysis of the plot's potential, was very important for the whole project. Among other things, at this stage of work, drone flights were made on the basis of which a numerical model of the terrain was created using Civil 3D software. The file transferred to Autodesk Revit allowed the conceptual work to begin with a complete set of key information.
