Customer challenge

Novatec d.o.o. is a Croatian company with 25 years of experience in automation and process control in various industries. Three years ago, they decided to step into a new field: e-mobility. In cooperation with two leading Croatian technical faculties, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, they started with the development of electric multifunctional low floor vehicle MUNIVO. As the new project brings growth both in scale and complexity, the challenge was organizing their team of engineers to work in most efficient way in order to speed up project deliveries.

Project goals

The goal of the project, with the use of Autodesk solutions, was to help engineering department to organize storage, handling and exchange of large quantities of various engineering documentation. In addition to that, is enable them to work concurrently and efficiently on existing and future projects. Finally, to deliver error-free production documentation as fast as possible.

Solution

The solution was based on implementation of Autodesk Vault Workgroup PDM software in their engineering department. Autodesk Vault implementation was customized according to Novatec’s needs, company standards, current and future workflows. Besides, the solution involves concurrent engineering capabilities and seamless documentation management and sharing, Autodesk Vault enabled automatization of repetitive tasks such as properties synchronization, creation of visualization files and PDF creation. Not to mentioned that the users were trained to efficiently use the new solution.

Business outcome

With Autodesk Vault Workgroup, engineers of Novatec are now able to securely store all their project documents in one place, able to quickly find what they need, see what others are doing while working together on large projects, be sure to always work with the latest versions of project documents and automatize most of the tedious manual tasks. As the result, their projects are going to be delivered faster and with fewer errors.
