Customer challenge

Latma SIA helps small and medium-sized companies to implement automated systems and industrial robots in production. The challenge for this project - palletizing different peat substrate packages in both 250L and 300L. The peat is a material which, after pressing, can either remain constant or increase, depending on the weather and the raw materials. Also, the weight of the package reaches 70 kg, but the lifting capacity of the robot has been determined, so a tool (gripper) must be made for moving the peat package and empty pallets, strong enough and long-lasting, but light. There are also two roller conveyors in the line, with one help you can turn the pack around its axis (180 degrees) and plaster it on the other conveyor to 90 degrees. Because the packages must be folded with the specified end to one side.

Project goals

The implementation of the project took about 5 months - about 2 months only for the creation of assemblies, about 2 months for the production and assembly of elements and one month went to programming so that the customer could create the required package pallets in the long run.

The benefits include a more compact unit that allows multiple production lines to be located on the same site, as well as no need for a full-time service.

Autodesk Inventor was the best solution for automating the peat pallet line and integrating a robotic system. Multiple production lines save space, reduce manual labor, speed up the work process and optimize all internal resources. The solution will allow the customer to ensure a productive long-term workflow.
