Increased value with Digital Offerings

Increased value with Digital Offerings

Customer challenge

HAKI products are often copied since each standard item by itself is rather simple. The know-how and value-adding lays in offering the customers the right support in how to build the most accurate scaffolding according to the need. The right safety, the right amount of material, the correct strength calculation, the right delivery, and the right cost. All the above are time-consuming work that both customers and HAKI were putting a lot of resources into. The data was transferred into different formats along the workflow with a high risk of losing important data. The demand for BIM was also a topic that the bigger customers started to ask for. To be on the safe side HAKI and partners often delivered too much scaffolding material to the building site. A waste with both energy and material"

Project goals

HAKI´s customers asked for a solution to much faster, more cost-effective and in a more secure way serve their end customers. They needed better control over costs and profit. This was essentially the same need that HAKI experienced internally. HAKI´s ambition is to be a digital front runner in their industry segment. The goal was to develop tools for a more digital workflow based on a 3D model supporting BIM.

Solution

HAKI developed a set of smart digital tools called "HAKI Design Tools". Then main tool is called HAKI Configurator. It is a webbased tool for configuring Scaffolding solution directy on HAKIs homepage. The soultion is powered by Autodesk Forge, Desgin Automation. For more complex projects HAKI has developed an Autodesk Revit add-in, called "HAKI BIM" that makes designing of Scaffolding much easier direct in Autodesk Revit.

Business outcome

The result of implementing the "HAKI Design Tools" has been really good. Both HAKI and their customers have shortened the lead time in the projects. They have better control over costs and profit. With a complete digital model, they have total control over the BOM. Since Autodesk Revit is used they have full Autodesk BIM compatibility. In a recent customer project, HAKI and the partner saved 60% of the project time compared to the old workflow.

Conclusion

Together with HAKI, we managed to help them implement a new digital workflow that gave both the customers and HAKI better control over costs and profit. By using Autodesk BIM they now have full control over the data and the BOM. The new digital tools have been a game-changer in the scaffolding industry segment.

System Integration: Vault with Monitor ERP

Cflow is expanding and they faced a couple of different challenges preventing them to grow in a good way. With huge lack of Item and BOM control and no connection between PDM (Vault) and ERP systems, the time waste was high. A lot of manual actions were required and the need to create the same information many times often occurred. Low reuse of parts led to an "everything is custom" mentality which is very inefficient for the company.

Connected Quality Processes with Fusion 360 Manage

Lindab suffered from old disconnected IT systems within Quailty. This led to difficulties regarding tracking and responding to claims. To have a broken digital chain of information gave a lot of waste, both time-wise & money-wise. Having the right visual KPIs was a challenge for Lindab. Not being able to track and understand the root cause was also a problem. The situation of not having the right data at the hand can lead to wrong decisions.

Intrx gained increased quality in their project management with Fusion 360 Manage

Intrx wanted to increase the quality in their project management and also offer a better solution for supplier collaboration. Early in the projects they wanted to see where more resources where needed to be able to reach the goals of the project. They also wanted to have a modern solution and platform for all the processes and to be able to adapt to future demands.
