System Integration: Vault with Monitor ERP

System Integration: Vault with Monitor ERP

Customer challenge

Cflow is expanding and they faced a couple of different challenges preventing them to grow in a good way. With huge lack of Item and BOM control and no connection between PDM (Vault) and ERP systems, the time waste was high. A lot of manual actions were required and the need to create the same information many times often occurred. Low reuse of parts led to an "everything is custom" mentality which is very inefficient for the company.

Project goals

Cflow Fish Handling wanted to scale up the business and put important data into integrated IT systems rather than relying on information in people´s heads and in documents. The company wanted to make it easier to employ new people and not be dependent on a few resources with key knowledge. They wanted it to be easy to find and reuse the correct data, minimizing the non-value added work such as typing the same data into different systems and spending valuable time searching for information that should be easy to find.

Solution

The solution delivered is based on Autodesk Vault Professional and the use of Item Master. The Cadcraft integration platform iConnect connects Vault with the ERP System directly via APIs. This makes two-way communication possible ensuring that the team always has the right data at hand. Cadcraft has helped with setting up and configuration of the system, supporting Cflow in the new digitized workflow.

Business outcome

With the integration between Vault Professional and the ERP system Monitor, Cflow has minimized the manual input of data and made it easier to reuse existing items. It is easier to find data and they have defined the master data in each system. The project has forced them to clean up data in different systems which is very valuable. And last but not least, a much higher BOM and item control capability has been enabled in both PDM and ERP systems.

Conclusion

Cflow and Cadcraft have worked closely together to set up a connection between Autodesk Vault Professional and their ERP System Monitor. Cflow understood the importance of making a shift to a more integrated and connected workflow. They dedicated an internal resource/role for working with system integrations which has been a very good strategic decision. Our joint commitment has been a key factor for a successful project.

Connected Quality Processes with Fusion 360 Manage

Lindab suffered from old disconnected IT systems within Quailty. This led to difficulties regarding tracking and responding to claims. To have a broken digital chain of information gave a lot of waste, both time-wise & money-wise. Having the right visual KPIs was a challenge for Lindab. Not being able to track and understand the root cause was also a problem. The situation of not having the right data at the hand can lead to wrong decisions.
