Implementation of CAM Solutions for CNC Machining at VALIANT TMS-Czech s.r.o.

Implementation of CAM Solutions for CNC Machining at VALIANT TMS-Czech s.r.o.

Customer challenge

A subsidiary of TMS Turnkey Manufacturing Solutions GmbH, based in Linz, Austria (www.tms-at.com) and part of the Valiant Group (www.valiantcorp.com), TMS Turnkey Manufacturing Solutions GmbH realizes complete turnkey automated lines mainly for the automotive industry.

VALIANT TMS-Czech s.r.o. offers complete customer service, i.e. rough and detailed planning of all processes in the production line, subsequent design in 3D/2D, real-time simulation of movements, purchase of technologies, assembly, installation and commissioning at the customer's site. We are able to provide the customer with the complete spectrum of required performance.

The company has historically used a CAM solution from a renowned automotive supplier that functionally fully covers all requirements. However, for areas of simpler manufacturing, the customer was looking for a solution that would not be as costly, yet still provide coverage of the required CAM operations. That's exactly what the customer found in the Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD/CAM solution and the post-processing and training development in collaboration with us.

Adeon mission:

To provide the customer with an affordable tool (CAM solution) that can prepare machining paths for their CNC machines and replace the current costly solution.

Project goals

After an initial introduction to the capabilities of Fusion 360 by our technician during a short on-line presentation, VALIANT TMS-Czech s.r.o. representatives confirmed the suitability of the solution for their production. We took into account, of course, both the typical parts that the customer is machining and the 5-axis machining centre used, on which the chip machining will take place and it is necessary to prepare a post-processor for direct communication between the CAM solution and the machine. Then we just agreed on the scope of work and the price of the project and we could start with the implementation.

Solution

In order to speed up the deployment of the solution, we simultaneously started preparing the postprocessor for the EMCOMILL 500 machine with the Sinumerik 840D control system and training of the customer's users. Within a few weeks (taking into account the customer's workload), we were ready and the customer could start using the solution. Even after the solution was handed over, we still received comments and suggestions for modifications, as it usually happens, and of course we will finish these small things. The proof of satisfaction with the Fusion 360 CAD/CAM solution and our services is the extension of the original one license to the current three.

Business outcome

1) Deployment of a CAD/CAM solution based on Autodesk Fusion 360, including preparation and debugging of a post-processor for a 5-axis machining centre.

2) Operator training and assistance with initial use of the solution.

Conclusion

"Fusion 360 has helped us a lot to reduce programming time thanks to its easy and intuitive operation."

- Llanos Ivan

Production Manager at VALIANT TMS-Czech s.r.o.

Implementation of Data Management System in PSP Engineering a.s. (czech)

PSP Engineering a.s. provides complex engineering for the mechanical, electrical and structural parts of machines and complete plants for the building materials industry. For more than 50 years, PSP Engineering has been associated with the design and technology for cement plants, crushing and screening plants for quarry stone, gravel and sand, lime plants and coal and ore processing plants. The PDM system for data management allows working in a team of people, where they do not overwrite each other's files and very quickly find the necessary data in the entire database, records file versions and allows efficient copying of data. This program runs on a server (even virtually) and depending on the version of this program you choose, Autodesk Vault is divided into Vault Basic (free with Inventor) and the more advanced Workgroup and Professional. In addition to these versions, Vault Office, primarily for everyone except engineers, is also used.

Increasing Work Efficiency with PDM at ICE Industrial Services (czech)

ICE Industrial Services develops, designs, programs and installs automated machines and lines for major companies around the world. Teamwork and data sharing within a company are essential to the operation of most modern businesses. This is also the case at ICE Industrial Services, a. s. - one of the fastest growing automation companies in the Czech Republic and probably in Europe. For this company, our company ADEON has implemented the Autodesk Vault Workgroup system exactly to measure. Thanks to this, we managed to maximally increase work efficiency, eliminate the risk of knowledge loss and centralize design data.
