DEPHOS Group Implements Autodesk Tools and Uses BIM Technology

Since 2000, DEPHOS Group has consistently been at the forefront of 3D data acquisition companies. With competencies and experience in the field of laser scanning, photogrammetry and geodesy, and the help of aerial, mobile and terrestrial measurement systems, they successfully deliver a wide range of cartographic and spatial products for CAD, BIM and GIS systems to customers all over the world. The main challenge that the DEPHOS Group faced was to implement a set of specialized tools to increase efficiency and in particular to enable the effective interpretation of data from the so-called point clouds containing measurement data sets as well as enabling precise 3D modeling in BIM technology.

The following priority project goals were identified: 1) Increase the quality level of the prepared 3D models and the level of precision in the aggregation and use of information based on the data obtained from the so-called point clouds. 2) Gain the ability to prepare models with any level of detail based on features and objects. 3) Gain tools and skills to perform inventory at every stage of the facility's life in any selected by the customer CAD or BIM format. 4) As part of the series of trainings in the use of Autodesk Revit and advanced modeling in BIM technology, gain the ability to work fluently in the 3D modeling environment.

A specialized package of solutions from Autodesk for the architecture and construction industry was implemented: the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Industry Collection - a set of BIM and CAD tools along with a cloud-based shared data environment that supports designers, engineers and contractors in the implementation of projects at all stages, from concept to construction. Thanks to the Autodesk AEC Collection, the company has gained the ability to effectively use reverse engineering, a technique that uses a 3D model obtained as a result of scanning a given item.

DEPHOS Group has gained the ability to interpret data, manage it and precisely model the so-called digital twin, creating elements with a degree of similarity to reality in Autodesk Revit. Thanks to the Autodesk Docs solution, the company's designers gained the ability to quickly compare versions of design documents, as well as current insight into the progress of work. Moreover, the common data environment and the unification of data exchange methodology positively influenced the smoothness of all project work.
