Because they cut the final parts manually and that caused them to lose a lot of time which is when they decided to implement a Robot cell together with advanced CAD-CAM software.

The goals of this project, by using Autodesk solution, is to improve efficiency by producing faster and more accurately. Also, the company wanted to increase their output capability from 2-3 parts to 20-30 parts per day. The desired outcome is to build a strong production process that is based on Autodesk Powermill Robot solution.

Solution

ROMTURINGIA SRL decide to invest in Autodesk Powershape and Autodesk Powermill with an KUKA robot. We have configured the Robot cell and the postprocessor, not to mentioned the training was also delivered by DELCAM RO to the customer, to improve the software and machining skills.

Business outcome

After implementing the new system and delivering the job training, the new business workflow has simplified and saved the team significant time compared with the conventional methods previously utilized. The cutting of the parts now runs smoothly using Kuka Robot Milling driven by NC data from Autodesk PowerMill and the new tooling design handled by Autodesk PowerShape software. The quality of the parts are much better and more accurate. Customer increase their output capability from 2-3 parts to 20-30 parts per day using the Robot milling system.
