Greiner Assistec SRL is a very big provider of plastic parts, injection molds, thermoforming and extrusion blow molding. The challenge is to move four 5 axis CNC centers from one location to another, to extend the production for thermoformed parts, but in the same time don't stop the production too much. They ask us to configure a.s.a.p. the 5 axis postprocessors and 3D model of the machine tools for simulation and of course training and consultancy.

Project goals

The goals of this project is to run the machine very quick to increase the production and also the machining time must be as low as possible. The machined parts are expected to be high-quality surface finished and accurate. Also, they are expected to handle the complex shape parts, asking us to train new users to use Autodesk Powershape and Autodesk Powermill for 5-axis machining.

Solution

Greiner Assistec SRL will be ordering new licenses for Autodesk Powermill and Autodesk Powershape and we provide 5 axis postprocessors for all the 5-axis machine tools and 3D model of the machine tools for simulation and of course training and consultancy.

Business outcome

After software implementing and customer training, production of thermoforming parts has increased and was able to bring new projects. The main outcome of this project was to keep relationship with the existing customers when they moving the machine tools and demand for more difficult and complex shape parts. By doing this, the business is not loss because of lacking in machining technology. The 5-axis machining team get more skill and capable to generate NC data quickly to run the 5 axis machine and the machine continuous running bringing more projects in.

Conclusion

Greiner Assistec SRL ordered new licenses for Autodesk Powermill Ultimate and Autodesk Powershape which they were very satisfied that they didn't lose any customers and improve all the manufacturing process. Also they increase the skill of the team. The customer was glad that the 5 axis milling centers was able to produce new parts with the programs from Autodesk Powermill in few days, before they using another software and now we replace with Autodesk Powermill. Also the simulation of the manufacturing process was very accurate.
