Customer challenge

The JV needs to Design, Build with options for maintenance of the facilities of the main rail depot. The JV group wanted to select a CDE platform, so that all the companies part of the JV, Architect, Consultants and Subcontractors can collectively collaborate and share the information. Managing and sharing data is a huge challenge between different locations. With the work being carried out at a different location/countries, it was difficult for individuals to share their data, document controller to monitor progress, reviews, issues, etc.

Project goals

The major goal was to select and implement a CDE Application that can manage asset information as part of the maintenance facilities and input the asset details in the initial design phase itself, by using Autodesk software. Implementing the CDE platform in a fast manner and be able to access the necessary documents, drawings, and 3d models on a centralized platform either from their desk or from the field.

Solution

ImageGrafix technical team performed an initial study and suggested the implementation of Autodesk Construction Cloud Platform with combination of different products and customized training. A detailed presentation by ImageGrafix along with Autodesk Team was done on Docs, Design, Coordinate, Build. A live training & hand-holding sessions, made them understand the real benefits and how to implement the CDE platform in their organization.

Business outcome

After the Implementation and training are completed, based on their pilot project learnings they started to follow the CDE process in their live project and realized that the CDE process will considerably help them in achieving their goal. Project Managers, planning engineers, and document controller were able to easily track the progress on the deliverable, pending tasks, etc.

Conclusion

With ImageGrafix’s implementation process along with online training and continuous product support and efforts, the JV started to use Autodesk BIM 360 platform at the very early stages of all the projects to enjoy the real benefits of CDE.
