Customer challenge

Metito is a global leader and provider of choice for total intelligent water management solutions with operations covering three business areas: design and build, specialty chemicals, and utilities. Based on the recent government BIM mandates on public and private projects, Metito began thinking of implementing BIM and making themselves ready for the future.

Project goals

Three priority project goals were identified: 1) Move from AutoCAD to BIM 2) Train the engineers on What is BIM and How to Implement BIM in their upcoming projects 3) Reduce reworks, improve coordination across teams, and improve project quality

Solution

The ImageGrafix technical team performed an initial study on Metito's existing workflow and suggested the implementation of Autodesk BIM products based on their current workflow and customized Revit training. A team of 10 Engineers was given complete training on all modules of Revit. A pilot project was also done during the live training and hand-holding sessions, which made them understand the real benefits of implementing the BIM process in their organization.

Business outcome

After the implementation and training was completed and based on their pilot project learnings, Metito started using Autodesk Revit on a project and completed it on time with the accurate Bill of Material and all accurate deliverables required for construction. The BIM model was clash-free which helped them to reduce the rework cost and complete the project earlier than the scheduled time.
