Therefore they have requirement for 3D Modelling, Analysis, Layout simulation.
Investing in various tools like CAD, CAE and Simulation will create a huge impact on our budget as we are a StartUp company. But still we need to compete with other major firms in this sector.
Project scope has 3D modelling of a robot operated conveyors with the deliverables of drafting sheets, GA Drawings, Layout 3D model and an animation for the same.
As this is our first project of this sort we had minimum time to learn and execute the project as whole in Autodesk Inventor and Tools.
USAM helped us in aligning the project deliverables along a proper execution plan with milestone deliverables. Inventor is our hero on 3D Modelling of conveyors, we used iparts and iassemblies to make configuration of the conveyor models and pick and place robots.
Then all the 3D models were added to the factory library of Factory Design utilities which is a plug-in on Autodesk Inventor for creating a 3D layout for proper visualization and to proceed for simulating the motion of robots and conveyors.
Once our Factory layout is done we used Inventor studio to animate the assemblies. Final drafting sheets was creating with Autodesk AutoCAD as there is a Inter-operability between Inventor and Autodesk AutoCAD.
Along Autodesk Inventor and other tools in Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection we were able deliver our pilot project on time with all promised deliverables. Since the customer was happy they have offered the project on various segments like line automation, conveyors, Robots and Special Purpose machines. So Merlin Automation has gained a huge project by implementing Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection for our pilot project.
With the Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection in action and with USAM support, we are already starting to reap the rewards, not only because of the positive customer feedback and the reduction to on-site working hours, but also because of our constant interest in replicating the same traceability in future projects.

This required DBMV to track every single item with unique identification.
