OWWSC Success with AutoCAD MEP and Plant 3D

OWWSC Success with AutoCAD MEP and Plant 3D

Customer challenge

Oman Water and Wastewater Services Company (OWWSC) was established under Royal Decree No. 131/2020 of December 9, 2020 which stated that Oman Wastewater Services Company SAOC shall undertake the activities of water and wastewater in all governorates of the Sultanate, with the exception of the Governorate of Dhofar. The ministry's tasks lie in general supervision of the electricity sector policy, while the authority is the body responsible for regulating the sector. As for the Nama Group companies, they carry out operations under the umbrella of the company that owns them, namely Nama Holding, which is owned by the Oman Investment Authority.

Project goals

The primary project goal identified was to lead and enable the group to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable electricity and water services to enhance value for Oman.

Solution

Since most of their projects are waste water management and providing sustainable electricity and water, we suggested them AutoCAD Plant 3D and MEP, which comes along with AutoCAD including toolsets.

Business outcome

AutoCAD MEP was effective for  electrical workspace and electrical design configurations allowing for the full wiring circuit to be created for scheduling. As one of the goals of providing sustainable electricity and water, MEP has aided with its extensive content library of HVAC MvParts and piping plans which can easily be set up using the MEP templates and the MEP Display Manager.

Similarly, AutoCAD Plant 3D allows to create intelligent P&IDs quickly and easily by just selecting industry-standard symbols from the tool pallet and placing them on the drawing. From developing to modifying plant model process the toolset helps in producing drawings for Water and Wastewater Infrastructure, oil and natural gas plants, and other industrial facilities.

Conclusion

OWWSC are satisfied with the solution we have provided them: “With AutoCAD including specialized toolsets , all of our Autodesk software users, regardless of location or level of experience, are connected with workflows"

   – Ibrahim Al Shamsi - OWWSC
