Customer challenge

Al Mithaliyah is based in Sharjah with all the in-house production facilities to produce tailor-made Point-of-Purchase/In-Store displays. The design, visualization and production team were working independently in silos using different solutions. Due to this process, whenever there was any modification or changes from the customer, it led to lot of rework as no teams were integrated through a common environment. This was affecting the efficiency of the work and delays in submitting the job.

Project goals

Goodwill Infotech defined the following Project Goals for the customer: 1. To integrate the workflow with Autodesk Solutions 2. To reduce rework of the teams and improve efficiency and project delivery time

Solution

We had a meeting with the members of the teams together to find out the actual challenges they were facing. Upon identifying those, we suggested Formit/Revit for concept design, 3ds Max for visualization, and Inventor Pro for documentation, BOM and extracting drawings. The new workflow will start by developing concepts using Formit/Revit. After that, the model is transferred for high-end visualization using 3ds Max, and then to Autodesk Inventor for preparing production (.dwg) files.

Business outcome

After seeing the demo of the integrated workflow, the design, visualization and production teams implemented it for all their new jobs. The new workflow helped them reduce the rework and effectively handle the change management. This helped them to complete the job on time and improve their productivity. This also helped them to win more jobs and increase their revenue.
