Optimization of Manufacturing Processes

Customer challenge

Fitsout Company owns and operates a new and one of the largest bespoke furniture factory in Europe. The latest and unique wood, metal, and acrylic furniture manufacturing technologies are integrated with LEAN, ISO, and innovative ERP management systems within a 20180 sq. m. production area. For a newly established company, it was important for Fitsout to find a suitable CAD solution to enable further integration with their ERP system implemented in the company. "In our work, a lot of information from customers is coming in DWG format. As we know, for that situation the best solution suited is Autodesk AutoCAD, and also, our design department staff already had some experience working with Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software”, said Fitsout Senior Design Engineer Denis Judakov.

Project goals

“Depending on the specifics of the company work, additional tools were needed to design the products and to transfer all necessary information to production”, said Denis.

Solution

In collaboration with local partners InfoEra and Celi APS, which offers specific tools for the furniture industry based on the Autodesk Inventor platform, a decision was made to deploy the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection package along with the Celi APS application Woodwork4Inventor to simplify the transfer of required information to ERP system Monitor. While AutoCAD is not a core tool, it is an integral tool in the day-to-day work of the company. All designs are done in Autodesk Inventor with the additional help of the Woodwork4Inventor application. Depending on the specific needs of the company, additional non-standard solutions for the information transferring to ERP were implemented by Celi APS. Training was conducted for the entire design department specifically for working with the installed software solutions and the new workflows. The CAM part of Woodwork4Inventor has also been implemented and integrated directly into the Autodesk Inventor environment.

Business outcome

“With the Autodesk software solutions, we have a full range of platforms for 2D and 3D modeling, drawing preparation, CAM programming, and the necessary information transferring to an ERP system, that allows us to work efficiently and productively”, said Fitsout Senior Design Engineer Denis Judakov.

Conclusion

Currently, with Autodesk software and Woodwork4Inventor solutions implemented by InfoEra and Celi APS, Fitsout has a solution for modeling and drawing preparation, CAM programming, and can transfer all necessary information to an ERP system that allows them to work efficiently and productively.

Akso-Haus Ltd Private Residence Building

Towards the end of the year 2021, we had to carry out interior and exterior design project with our partner and client Akso-Haus Ltd (https://www.aksohaus.ee/en/), prefabricated modular houses producer since 2004. The challenge was to support them operatively to bring the final phase of a client’s great idea and vision to life. In this case, the project was quite challenging due to tight project and limited budget size. To insure technical quality, by having same time to keep working efficiency and time schedules, Revismo was opting for Autodesk 3ds Max.

Peat Pallet Line Automation with Autodesk Inventor

Latma SIA helps small and medium-sized companies to implement automated systems and industrial robots in production. The challenge for this project - palletizing different peat substrate packages in both 250L and 300L. The peat is a material which, after pressing, can either remain constant or increase, depending on the weather and the raw materials. Also, the weight of the package reaches 70 kg, but the lifting capacity of the robot has been determined, so a tool (gripper) must be made for moving the peat package and empty pallets, strong enough and long-lasting, but light. There are also two roller conveyors in the line, with one help you can turn the pack around its axis (180 degrees) and plaster it on the other conveyor to 90 degrees. Because the packages must be folded with the specified end to one side.
