METC Engineering’s (METCE) Greenfield and Brownfield Projects are notorious for being delivered on time and one of the aspects of providing this has been the introduction of the Autodesk Advanced Steel software application. 1) Find new workflow processes to deliver new design and fabrication detail of structural steel conveyors, buildings and support structures
2) Reevaluate the Engineering Certification of stress analysis between the design office and PR Engineering Consultant
3) Better integration between steel model, piping, platework and civils and identify areas within the current production management workflow where cost-saving practices could be implemented without loss of operational efficiency
The team at Technocad Inisys oboarded and supported METC Engineering with their conversion from 2D Fabrication drawing to 3D Construction models and the automatic production of Workshop fabrication details. METC have implemented a combination of Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Plant 3D and Autodesk Advanced Steel that provided METCE with a powerful Suite for faster design to construction process and a better solution for much quicker deign with far less rework. Autodesk products are now used within all disciplines.
Having fully integrated Autodesk Advanced Steel, METCE has found tremendous success in keeping pace with the ever-growing demand for their expertise in 3D modeling without the need for added resources or overhead. In particular, the METC Engineering team has noted that the Autodesk Advanced Steel product has given them the ability to communicate design and latest revision of their 3D Structural Steel model with all the key project shareholders at a fraction of the cost from their previous workflow.
