EP Refrigeration’s scale has increased significantly with the strategic acquisitions of some of South Africa’s most experienced refrigeration companies. The primary challenge was creating a scalable design service across multiple divisions after the large acquisitions.
After using AutoCAD for several years, the team needed to become more competitive, efficient and innovative in the industry. Additionally, it was critical to produce more client options for the most appropriate solutions. The project goal set was to implement a standard for using the design tools in a way that gives their clients projects that were on time, of a high-quality standard, and affordable.
Having moved onto the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Collection solution, Energy Partners saved 45% of their engineering and design time by implementing Plant 3D with Intelligent P&IDs. The ability to have a 3D review in Autodesk Navisworks and an approved layout meant the design team were able to produce Iso’s 90% faster than previously, with less rework. This equated into quicker pipeline fabrication and installation on site.
