Project goals

Raamtel Solutions had three main requirements for the right CAM solution: 1) Seamless integration with 3D Models with easy editing enabled for any 3D Model created with the software. 2) Ability to generate any type of NC Program using the best Toolpath Strategies available. 3) Built-in Post Processors to generate Trusted NC Codes and to speed up the work.

Solution

Considering the competitive market, Raamtel Solutions started to get the parts which were difficult to program on the machine, especially the milling and turning, and which were already modelled in 3D. Then, Raamtel Solutions started to look for a suitable CAM Solution. Raamtel Solutions decided to invest in Autodesk Fusion 360 with PowerMill implemented by Greenleaf IT Consulting, which would integrate easily with any Machine and would also be able to program the milling machines. Autodesk software being available in a subscription model also optimized the Raamtel IT investment. Autodesk Fusion 360 with PowerMill has PowerMill and Fusion 360 solutions fully integrated which allows Raamtel Solutions to do Quick Edit on any 3D file format and generate the Toolpath for NC Programs. It’s also very easy to edit the toolpath in PowerMill. Other CAM software required a separate costly Post Processor solution.
