GISCAD Limited AEC Expansion/Onboarding for The Government of Bahamas

Customer challenge

The Bahamas Department of Information Technology identified the following challenges that needed to be addressed: 1) 29th October 2019: Unable to renew existing 25 AEC Collection subscriptions due to lingering economic challenges as a result of Hurricane Dorian. 2) Early 2020: The Government of Bahamas, in their rehabilitation efforts, was affected by the downgrade in subscriptions available. 3) March 2020: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the existing network multi-user subscriptions restricted the users' availability to access the software remotely.

Project goals

The following priority project goals were identified in partnership with Autodesk Solution Provider GISCAD Limited: 1) Maximise software potential with the current users' needs and requirements. 2) Getting software access to all potential users. 3) Supporting users' access to subscriptions remotely without hindrance of network infrastructure. 4) Source new software to enhance rendering speeds and provide support for cloud integration. 5) Introduce cloud storage solutions to create a streamlined production environment through which users can freely collaborate to bring visuals from conception to production. 6) Identify areas within the current production management workflow where cost-saving practices could be implemented without loss of operational efficiency.

Solution

GISCAD Limited provided the following solutions and services to address the customer challenges identified: 1) A Needs Analysis was performed to help identify software requirements and workflow integrations. 2) As a result of the Needs Analysis, GISCAD Limited set out to onboard and support the Bahamas Government with their migration to the cloud. 3) Autodesk made the decision to transition all existing Multi-user Network subscriptions to Single-user Standalone subscriptions, whereby each Multi-user Network subscription was converted to TWO (2) Single-user Standalone subscriptions.

Business outcome

With the support of GISCAD Limited, the Bahamas Government was able to successfully implement the AEC Collection Infrastructure which has allowed them to add far more depth and detail into their workflows.

Conclusion

GISCAD Limited continues to work with the Government of Bahamas with their Customer Success and Onboarding, as well as providing solutions to enhance the optimisation of usage of the Autodesk AEC Collection and improve their cloud adoption for a more collaborative workflow.
