Success Story

From Meridian to Vault Workgroup

From Meridian to Vault Workgroup

Customer challenge

Landia is a global production company, producing high-quality pumps- and stirring-solutions to many different lines of industries. While their construction is done in Autodesk Inventor, Landia had used Meridian as their PDM-system for many years, halting their work process. As Henny Larsen, an employee at the company’s office in Lem, Jutland, puts it: “most of the work should have been done yesterday.” After long chats with Invent A/S, and a push in the right direction, they decided to go in a different direction and opt for another PDM-system: Autodesk Vault Workgroup.

Project goals

The main goal of the project, and what Landia needed urgently, was a sufficient PDM-system which would be able to aid the company in their workflow.

Solution

To help in the progression from Meridian to Autodesk Vault Workgroup, Rasmus, a System Consultant from Invent A/S, traveled to the town of Lem to monitor the daily work routines of the employees at Landia. This was done as a test run, to get the right setup for Autodesk Vault Workgroup. This was done to make the transition as smooth and painless as possible. On a Friday in Autumn of 2019, Landia pushed the button, and SmartInvent started converting all the data from Meridian to Autodesk Vault Workgroup.

Business outcome

Though there was a transition into using Autodesk Vault Workgroup at the start of the period, there was no question for the employees that the system was up and running from day one. One year on, the employees at Landia are confident in their way of using Autodesk Vault Workgroup, and especially happy with the way files are released – hassle-free. Landia has also had a lot of comfort from the SmartInvent Jobserver, which was implemented with Autodesk Vault Workgroup. This has aided the company in the generation of production files, which are now being generated in the background.

Conclusion

Looking back, Landia sees the transition to Autodesk Vault Workgroup as necessary for the progression of the company, and they would do it again if asked today. As the Henny, the employee from Landia, states: “We are happy we did it. It was absolutely the right solution.”

Optimized Workflow with Inventor, Vault and Revit

In Grenaa, Denmark, lies one of the country's leading suppliers of complex steel and pipe engineering plants: HSM Industri A / S. Here, around 200 people are working in making large up-welded steel structures. It can be anything from railway bridges to structures for the offshore industry. The company designs, constructs and produces from the address in Grenaa. The design and construction tasks are performed in Autodesk Software with Invent A/S on the sidelines as CAD supplier. HSM Industri A/S has a persistent wish of having easier workflows in the Autodesk programs: the aim of making it easier for the department to collaborate internally, as well as with customers and partners.

Template with Specifications

KLIMA Huse is engaged in building environmentally friendly houses. The company is a leader in low-energy house construction in Denmark. The company's design studio had a great desire to perform several of the house's tasks in-house and become even more independent in all the processes that occur when a construction project is to be completed. KLIMA Huse's challenge was, among other things, that they had a heavy and unmanageable template, composed of many different people.

Getting Started with Autodesk Revit and Invent A/S

Previously, FJ Huse used external consultants to perform tasks in Autodesk Revit. The company had a desire to be able to perform the work tasks in-house and it came to happen in collaboration with Invent A/S.
