ENVENTURE ENGINEERING Team Collaboration Using a Common data Environment

ENVENTURE decided to optimize the use of the AUTODESK Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Collection and use the power and flexibility of Autodesk Construction Cloud solutions.  These solutions help them connect all the stakeholders across projects. Training and implementation of the Autodesk Construction Cloud solution was a big challenge. The Microgenesis technical team helped Eventure's design engineers and the Project Manager to leverage the use of REVIT in Architecture, Structural, MEP design capabilities, and design automation. Integrating the Autodesk Construction Cloud with other design software and training all the members to use BIM Collaborate Pro.

Leveraging the cross-team multidisciplinary model in one space facilitates design review and clash detection with automatic clash testing. Reviewing the issues created in the cloud are now done directly in Revit and Navisworks and issues are solved in the same solution. With the help of the common data environment, the engineering design team and trades take part in the design and model coordination process together to resolve issues at the same time in real-time.

Tracking the project deliverables is enabled with a common environment that details who, what, and when. Issue management is optimized by meetings with a set agenda that addresses issue details in a manner that all can refer to the model and solve the issue efficiently. The powerful analysis tool in the cloud gives Managers and Owners the ability to track the progress of the construction project and insight for better predictive analysis and decision making.

Investment in the server for project document storage was eliminated by storing all the project documents in real-time in the cloud, saving a lot of time and reducing errors on project sites. The ability to deliver the project on time within budget was enabled, with 5% of the budget reduced through the advanced digital automation capabilities design. Team coordination on the common platform improved the design process and quality. Rework is reduced by a quick update of different versions, and comparing the versions files at any stage. Design Markup helps the team to manage project challenges and identifies issues for review, rework and resolution. Multi-disciplinary teams work together to create common data environment solutions anywhere. They benefit from cost control, less paper usage on-site, improved quality, and quicker resolution.

ENVENTURE improved their productivity by eliminating time wasted on non-value-added activities, like searching for data. Productivity gains improved by 20% by just eliminating data searching activities. Coordination time with the team was reduced with a paperless workflow, NO drawing file sharing in emails, NO version confusion, and data loss elimination. Raising the issue in a common data environment helped our engineering and construction firms to understand and respond immediately with added value to the project. Design automation was helped with robust 3D modelling, and now they can review 2D drawings, 3D models, and documents from any device, keeping all relevant stakeholders updated on the latest project information. Better revision and version management was enabled.
