Success Story

Design from CAM to Production

Design from CAM to Production

Customer challenge

Customer was using a competitor product that they felt was not as efficient as required. Customer required quick design to Autodesk CAM to production within an environment that tracks and includes updates in real-time (time is money).

Project goals

The goals were to improve and streamline the operation. Using virtual design and prototyping (3D printing is used for certain product proof), many unnecessary processes had already been cut, there was however still room for improvement and the ability to utilise more of the tools already available.

Solution

Micrographics performed an analysis on the current design processes and determined that by implementing the use of Autodesk Inventor & Autodesk Inventor CAM, the time from design, to Autodesk CAM, to production could be significantly reduced.

Business outcome

After using competitor software, Autodesk Inventor proved to offer a more complete solution. The solution offered by Autodesk, was streamlined and more efficient than what the company was used to.

Conclusion

Trek Plastics feels that Micrographics listens to Customer requests and believes that those that are practical and possible are taken into consideration and communicated to be included in future updates. As challenges increase and expectations from clients rise, Trek Plastics is confident that Micrographics will always provide them meaningful support and ensure that the products they use will be the best and most efficient option for their industry.

How Astratek Group Improved Its Digital Workflow

The Astratek Group is multi-disciplinary in nature, and are often faced with challenges that require collaboration between the fabrication and design arm of the company group. But often workflow is interrupted where particular software within the Autodesk family does not transfer accurately or at all. An example of which would be the fragmented relationship between Revit, Inventor and Advance Steel.
