Hutama Karya is the owner of Sumatera Toll Road, Sumatera Toll Road work is divided to 17 sections of work, design process right now in the DED. Many consultants, sub-consultants are involved in the DED work of 17 sections. Virama Karya are one of the consultants that designs for Sumatera Toll Road and they did 5 packages of design sections. Hutama Karya as the owner of Sumatera Toll Road requested that the deisgns to be modelled in BIM, and they put BIM as mandatory. EDPMEDIA is BIM sub-con for Virama Karya.
The five sections project of BIM that are supppoprted by EDPMEDIA in the Sumatera Toll Road are Betung-jambi 2, Rengat Pekanbaru Seksi 2, Rengat Pekanbaru Seksi 3, Rengat Pekanbaru Seksi 4, and Rengat Pekanbaru Seksi 5. Produce BIM Model in short time, find clashes, calculate quantities and collaborate with many parties for this huge project are the main challenges.
The goals of this project are to integrate 3D BIM Model that are consists of civil work, structure work, hydrology, rest area, toll gate, and road signs by solutions from Autodesk AEC. Also, to find a way to communicate and collaborate, solve clashes and calculate quantities by all parties transparently in the BIM 360 as the CDE.
Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection (AECC) is the solution for the production of 3D BIM integrated model.
Highway road and drainage are modelled in the Autodesk Civil 3D. Structure work like overpass, main bridge, under bridge, underpass and box culvert are modelled in Autodesk Revit. And then Autodesk Infraworks is used to combine the model from Autodesk Civil 3D and Autodesk Revit, find clashes and to simulate visual experience of road construction.
To fasten the process of modelling, library of parametric Autodesk Revit Family and Autodesk Civil 3D sub-assemblies are prepared in advanced so that when in the middle of design there are changes, changes are reflected in the model quickly. By preparing the libraries in advance, 3D BIM model work are way more efficient.
All of the BIM models of Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Autodesk Infrawork are stored in the Autodesk BIM 360 as the CDE. Autodesk BIM 360 helps to communicate and collaborate between all parties involved in the project. The report of clashes findings, 3D BIM Model, quantity report are reviewed digitally in Autodesk BIM 360. All of the documents history whether it has comments, markups, approved or rejected can be tracked easily. All parties in the project can rely on Autodesk BIM 360 to work collaboratively and transparently.
Autodesk AECC helps the modelling team to produce BIM Model in one single solution from Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, and Autodesk Infrawork. During the process of modelling in multi-discipline project, communications are effective and transparent with CDE from Autodesk BIM 360. 3D BIM Model of Toll Road Rengat-Pekanbaru Section 2,3,4,5 and Betung-jambi Section 2 are produced effectively and efficiently in the single solution from Autodesk AECC.
