The following project goals were set: 1) Minimize the number of engineers on-site and encourage a working from home principle to avoid time wastage 2) Reach the maximum benefit from Autodesk products and the Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Collection 3) Integrate a visualization solution such as VR and AR with 3ds Max and don't depend only on 2D shots 4) Engage end-user with the design process to reduce rework

Solution

The following Autodesk solutions were implemented: 1) 3ds Max was used to build the 3D model, then the 3D model was used as a start to build the interactive model using 3ds Max interactive. 2) Akam Development did a Proof of Concept with Revit and Unity using Unity Reflect and the results showed impressive interactions and engagement. These results will transform the way of sales and marketing.

Business outcome

1) We reduced the number of onsite engineers by 50% which impacted energy and time consumption. 2) Using cloud solutions reduced the time consumed in travelling to/from the office. 3) Using cloud solutions also made a strong link between site and office, and engineers now can access their documents anytime, anywhere.

Conclusion

TEA Computers offered the ultimate support in BIM 360 onboarding and obtained the maximum benefits from Autodesk products. We are one of the first companies that used Unity Reflect as an interpreter between Revit and Unity, and it made a huge difference in the final product. We identified and utilized a different interaction technology to help further optimize the Autodesk products.
