Kohasa Engineering (http://kohasaeng.com/), a customer of CDSS since 2012, is a wholly indigenous onshore and offshore, Oil & Gas Production Facilities Design and Construction company with a big reservoir of experience in different fields of engineering, and incorporated with Corporate Affairs Commission on the 4th of February, 2003. Initially using standalone maintenance contract licenses, they moved to multi-user Autodesk AutoCAD subscriptions at their installations in Port Harcourt, and then later in Lagos.
Kohasa, over the years, has fully integrated their use of Autodesk software (Autodesk AutoCAD/Autodesk Navisworks Simulate) into their Conceptual Study, FEED (Front End Engineering Design), and Detailed Engineering Design. In November 2019, we started the discussion with Kohasa on moving their Autodesk seats (7nos) from multi-user subscriptions to single-user subscriptions. The 2-for-1 promotion was a significant incentive in this regard.
Using Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Navisworks Simulate, CDSS has always been their resource when making decisions regards software acquisition, and this was no different. Leveraging the relationship built up over many years with Kohasa, we convinced them of the merits of such a move and benefits going forward, particularly the lower renewal cost of their annual subscriptions against the cost of having to purchase new subscriptions, therefore taking advantage of the years of investment in Autodesk software.
The Company utilizes their Autodesk products (primarily Autodesk AutoCAD) in the production of the Drafting/Design deliverables for Instrumentation Control and Automation, Piping and Equipment Layouts, Civil/Structural Design & Electrical Design.
We envisage a move soon to a more integrated workflow with their acquisition of Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection subscriptions and Collaboration tools, and look forward to a positive, productive outcome with the workflows that we are currently developing with the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction and Product Design & Manufacturing Collections for optimizing PLANT conceptual and detailed designs.
