LINS Projekt was founded in 2014, in Novi Sad as a small family business. Their goal is to provide engineering services: designing electrical, hydrotechnical systems (sewage and water supply), measuring and controlling devices, and preparing the drafts and main projects on fire protection in industrial and infrastructure facilities, as well as supervising during the implementation of these projects. With increasing involvement in various and numerous projects, the number of employees and dedicated professionals who are licensed engineers and contractors is growing. Because of the very long routes they designed, they needed a tool to count data and automatically create tables to get quantities for the bill of quantities and preliminary calculations. The increased volume of work and working without specialized tools led to a great loss of time and overtime work. This problem, like many others, was solved by switching to Autodesk's AutoCAD software - including specialized toolsets instead of AutoCAD LT software, as we advised them.
Also, the functionality of comparing the last version of the drawing with the previous version allowed them to quickly review the changes made during the design process and better communication between all participants in the design.
In the meantime, the need for better visualization of the terrain itself and the position of the projected installations appeared. We suggested using Autodesk Civil 3D software. Which enabled them to better understand and simulate the real appearance, precise execution of the performance, and supporting documentation as well as the calculation of the costs of the material used.
The use of blocks with attributes drastically speeds up work and reduced the possibility of errors in design as well as in execution.
With the help of Civil 3D program, a coordinated model rich in data was created, which enables the analysis in the earliest stages of design and avoids errors and rework.
