Customer challenge

In 2021, Food Concepts decided to expand their eatery outlets and in addition add some other business units to it. The challenge was to roll out business units with ease despite several different locations.

Project goals

Since Food Concepts had their in-house design team, they needed to find a way to design with speed and reduce design time so that the contractors would be able to deliver on each outlet at the required time.

Solution

Food Concept were using AutoCAD for most of their designs, but with the proposal to change to the Autodesk AEC Industry Collection they were able to use Revit which is 3D based and could speed up their design times. They were also able to further optimize the value of Revit to get their bill of quantity and they had a more robust data to hand over to the construction firms as they only do the designs. Also, through 3ds Max they were now able to visualize each new food outlet in real time and get fast management approval as the management assessment team saw the new outlet in real-time visualization. The complete innovative solution has reduced design times and increased approval timing for their projects.

Business outcome

Faster approvals for the designs enabled management to have a first-hand visual impression of each project outlet. The construction firm is now able to have more data of the design to work with which saves a lot of back and forth between the design team and the project manager of the construction firm. More money is saved as each outlet is delivered on time.
