Enterprise Design Process Automation with Autodesk Vault

Customer challenge

L&T Ship Building (LTSB) unit has been using Dassault's Enovia for Product Lifecycle Management and Infor's ERP Solutions for ERP management. Due to the cost of the existing software, they decided to move from Dassault's Enovia to Autodesk Vault.

Project goals

1) Seamless transition from Dassault's Enovia to Autodesk Vault environment. 2) Integration of project management with Infor ERP System. 3) Migration of existing database into the new system. 4) Customization of Autodesk Vault to have features/options that LTSB's team was used to.

Solution

LTSB came up with a list of features, which needed to be customized. Some key factors were: 1) Managing Inquries & Design Content: Lifecycle, User Access, Document Control, Change Management 2) Report generation 3) Item-code generation and integration with ERP system 4) Automated migration of files from existing PLM tool into Autodesk Vault, along with intelligence KKMSoft reviewed the requirements and existing workflow completely. The development activity was demonstrated and signed off.

Business outcome

LTSB unit started using Autodesk Vault product seamlessly, along with the high-end integration with Infor's ERP Systems. The existing database had also been migrated from Enovia database into the Vault server in an automated way without manual efforts. With basic training, the users also adapted to a new tool, since most of the features were developed in resemblance to their old Tool.

Conclusion

The customization of Autodesk Vault allowed LTSB's team a quick adaption and secured business continuity. On the whole, KKMSoft helped LTSB for a seamless transition from Dassault's Enovia to Autodesk Vault.
