Success Story

ENECA’s latest design of a high-capacity boiler house (up to 99 Gcal/h) situated on a 62-hectare site in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. The complex includes the primary facility, a diesel fuel loading/unloading station, and a security checkpoint. The primary challenge was coordinating the arrangement of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems within the building while ensuring precise alignment with the overall site plan.

The primary goal is to deliver a fully coordinated design for a 99 Gcal/h high-capacity boiler house complex in Atyrau, ensuring 100% spatial alignment between complex internal MEP systems and the 62-hectare site infrastructure. By leveraging advanced BIM coordination to resolve inter-disciplinary clashes before the construction phase, the project aims to reduce field-based rework and associated costs. This integrated approach ensures the seamless operational flow between the primary facility and the diesel fuel loading station, ultimately shortening the overall project delivery timeline and enhancing capital efficiency for the client.
BIM Process
Architectural, structural, and engineering solutions were developed as 13 interconnected models within Autodesk Revit. We used connected files (Revit Links) workflow, ensuring real-time data consistency across all disciplines during the design phase. To maintain centralized quality control, a federated model was established in Autodesk Navisworks Manage.

Coordination and Automation
To systematically identify and resolve collisions, we automated internal workflow within Navisworks. This solution consists of two core components:
This methodology enabled regular, comprehensive model audits, allowing the team to resolve conflicts during the design stage rather than on the construction site.

Integration with master plan and external utilities
The master plan, external sewerage, and complex automation systems designs were developed in Autodesk Civil 3D. Ensuring the exact positioning of buildings and utility networks was critical. To achieve this, coordinates and elevation marks established in the Civil 3D master plan model, were transferred directly into the Revit models. This integration facilitated:
Elimination of errors in absolute elevation marks.

The synergy of Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, and Navisworks alongside internal workflow automation, allowed us to complete the detailed design phase with the following results:
Risk reduction: The probability of errors leading to costly rework or construction downtime was minimized.
This methodology demonstrates an effective workflow for designing complex industrial facilities using the Autodesk ecosystem.

Final model renders and detailed views
The successful delivery of the Atyrau boiler house demonstrates ENECA’s unique ability to manage high-complexity industrial projects with record speed and uncompromising quality. By leveraging an automated BIM ecosystem to unify 13 discipline-specific models with the site's master plan, company provided a "zero-clash" environment that significantly reduced the client’s capital risk and construction downtime.
