Customer challenge

A Kiosk manufacturer from Pyramid Computer GmbH (Germany) wanted their product to be shown in the environment of their perspective clients. The product was to be shown in an Automobile showroom and boutique. They also wanted product close up’s as well as 360 animations that they were going to play in a loop for their website and other mediums. Initial scope of the project was to do a Photo-shoot & Video-shoot the Kiosk in the real environment. But the challenge of the real shoot was that for some reason if client were not happy with the result of the final images, you would have to book a re-shoot, with additional costs and administration as a result. The changing trends made it almost physically impossible to photograph every product, product feature, and product variation for a global campaign. So, a solution was required in which this challenge could be worked upon.

Project goals

The main goal of this project was to develop a rich content & experience for customers to use the kiosk in an intuitive manner, for which the 3D / CGI Solution was suggested using Autodesk Products. Using Autodesk 3Ds Max/Autodesk Maya to create a digital Product, they could re-shoot the scenes as many times as required. By using CGI instead of traditional photography there would be no longer a need for flying in all the products & equipment to build an expensive set-up, as it would all be created digitally.

Solution

Capricot as a Vendor & Support entity along with Autodesk, connected to Leons Digital team to provide solutions along the way. Autodesk Solutions used: Autodesk 3Ds max/Autodesk Maya: • To develop a Product based on CAD Data specifications. • To have enriched photorealistic rendering • 360 Animations.

Business outcome

The whole project was done in Eight workdays starting with NDA till the final render output including some changes to the arrangements of the product in scenes. Not to mention, having Autodesk 3Ds Max/Autodesk Maya software with many rich features helped the modelers, the renders, and the designers to create flawless photo-realistic 3D images as well as 3D animations providing a creative freedom. Autodesk Solutions helped to replace high-end photographers, large crews, and set pieces at a fraction of the cost. Mass customization helped to have more customized products & design options than ever before.

Conclusion

CGI does not require a large production team and you are not restricted by location, weather, and other conditions. All aspects of the product like lighting, materials, and location can also be fine-tuned or exchanged on the fly. In a nutshell, this engagement between Capricot & Leons Digital along with Autodesk Solutions resulted in a full-fledged digital portfolio for Leons Digital which is making it easier for marketers to ensure that customers get the right media for the right device, in the right format throughout the entire customer journey.
