Building a Completely Remote Workflow for Margarita Mix

Building a Completely Remote Workflow for Margarita Mix

Customer challenge

When the Covid-19 pandemic began, Margarita Mix, along with so many other clients were required to stay home, which naturally caused a major problem for post-production facilities. Margarita Mix needed to find a solution to allow creative artists to complete projects in a safe, remote, work from home environment.

Project goals

With so many different solutions for remote workflows, Margarita Mix needed to test various products to find the best solution that supported a 10-Bit monitor along with some high-performance storage requirements.

Solution

ALT Systems provided different sets of hardware from multiple manufacturers along with engineering support to test and ensure the remote workflow results would be acceptable for real world environments. After many different products, HP Z Central Boost with Win 10 HP Thin clients provided the best results for Autodesk Flame workflows.

Business outcome

In a short period of time, Margarita Mix and ALT Systems worked together to come up with a solution that allowed business to continue and operate efficiently with minimal R&D costs for Margarita Mix.

Conclusion

There are many unforeseen challenges in the day-to-day business of post-production companies, some more challenging than others. It is based on this understanding that the ALT Systems support model is designed to be an extension of our clients engineering staff to ensure continued success for all which can be highlighted with the recently completed remote workflow project for Flame.
