Success Story

In this multi-billion-dollar semiconductor Design-Build project, The General Contractor faced significant challenges in integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) management, particularly in project collaboration, coordination, and information consistency. The complexity was exacerbated by the necessity to merge various workflows across over 30 teams, encompassing more than 1200 personnel. The primary challenge arose from the decentralized nature of the Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) in use. While Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) was implemented for design-related workflows, construction-specific tasks still relied on disparate PMIS platforms. This disjunction not only posed a risk of critical information loss during data transfers but also caused considerable confusion among stakeholders who were required to navigate multiple systems for comprehensive project insights. Furthermore, the introduction of new workflows and the transition to ACC represented a substantial change management hurdle, complicating the adoption process for a workforce accustomed to different PMIS systems. This scenario demanded an innovative, efficient solution to streamline processes and ensure seamless collaboration across all project stages. Sanveo was hired to support ACC implementation, BIM coordination, project collaboration, and document & data management on this semiconductor project.
The goals for this project include:
The General Contractor and Sanveo worked to achieve our project goals. We focused on streamlining the collaboration process by integrating Request for Information (RFI) and Submittals modules within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for designers, subcontractors, and the owner. This strategic integration facilitated the abandonment of separate Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) for construction-related workflows, fostering a more unified and efficient approach. Committed to ensuring proficient use of this new system, we provided extensive training to all relevant parties. We offered continued support, ensuring they could operate different ACC modules independently with minimal assistance. This transition of RFIs and submittals into ACC was critical in paving the way for a seamless shift of other contractor PMIS functionalities.
Sanveo’s engagement stood out due to our commitment to supporting the General Contractor and Client in centralizing project data on a single platform, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). This streamlined data management and significantly boosted accessibility for the entire project team. By simplifying interactions and reducing the complexities of juggling multiple systems, we created a more cohesive and efficient collaborative environment for the team.
Sanveo’s attentiveness in supporting user acclimation despite challenges made this initiative particularly impactful. A substantial effort was invested in training and documentation to assist project end users in adapting to the new system. With the unwavering support of the Owner and the General Contractor’s Project Managers and consistent weekly check-ins, the team managed to navigate these hurdles successfully. The dedicated and responsive support framework set up by the General Contractor and supported by Sanveo was pivotal in enabling users to become proficient in all workflows within a few months, exemplifying a unique and impactful engagement with the customer.
Sanveo's support in integrating Autodesk Construction Cloud in a significant semiconductor project highlights the vital role of unified digital platforms in modern construction. Addressing challenges with decentralized PMIS through comprehensive training and system integration, Sanveo supported enhancing project efficiency and data consistency. This case study exemplifies the importance of embracing advanced technology and continuous support in managing complex, large-scale construction projects in support of our clients.
