Renishaw: Pioneering additive manufacturing solutions
Renishaw, a global leader in precision engineering, is pushing the boundaries with its cutting-edge additive manufacturing solutions:
QuantAM is Renishaw’s print preparation software for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) manufacturing. It integrates closely with machine control software, allowing for quick and accurate review of build files, including those from third-party packages.
Renishaw’s TEMPUS™ is a software-driven technology in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) metal additive manufacturing process, that maximizes productivity by reducing the overall build processing time. The technology aims to establish seamless communication between the advanced software and hardware components of the Renishaw AM system. By synchronizing the laser, elevator, and recoater actions, more layers are able to be processed in the same amount of time when compared with traditional powder bed technology. This technology is available as a retrofit to enhance the additive manufacturing productivity of the existing Renishaw’s single and multi-laser RENAM 500 series AM systems. In order to take advantage of the optimized TEMPUS™ settings, Renishaw’s advanced file format (.RENAM) will need to be used.
Introducing the ‘Renishaw for Fusion’ add-in
As part of this collaboration and connecting of workflows, Autodesk has announced the release of a “Renishaw for Fusion” add-in. With this add-in Fusion users can go beyond common print preparation workflows in their preferred design and manufacturing platform and gain access to additional functionalities to further enhance their metal additive manufacturing user experience. The “Renishaw for Fusion” add-in unlocks access to the following Renishaw hardware specific capabilities directly within Autodesk Fusion:
- Access TEMPUS™ optimized settings.
- Ability to export additive toolpath as “*.RENAM” files.
- Access to the build time estimation powered by QuantAM.
This add-in streamlines workflows, allowing users to effortlessly move from design to production while benefiting from Renishaw’s TEMPUS™ technology.
