This class will present techniques to efficiently use Revit for rebar detailing of bridge projects. Bridge design can be done with Autocad Civil 3D or Autodesk Infraworks but both packages have no tools for analysis and detailing of tendons and rebars. Bridge geometry can be imported into Revit from Infraworks and can be used to create a rebar model with tendons and to produce required deliveries like 2D drawings, schedules and data for production. Attendees will learn how BIM workflows established in the building industry have to be modified to work in infrastructure projects and how they may use several products of SOFiSTiK to smoothen this workflows. An outlook will be given how analysis and design software can be integrated into this workflow.
Stefan Maly studied structural engineering and computational mechanics in his German hometown Munich, Bavaria. He started his career at SOFiSTiK in 2003 as student worker, after that he worked as consultant to customers for several international bridge and building projects. 2008 he took responsibility for product management of the FEA software product line of SOFiSTiK. Since 2015 he is responsible for all products, with May 2017 as CPO. He is a chartered engineer in the state of Bavaria and member of IABSE.
