From BIM to Industry 4.0—Egis BIM Strategy for Metro: Systemic, Parametric, Interoperable
Major urban transport projects are an opportunity to develop BIM and PLM applied to railway systems and underground structures. This involves extending BIM processes to linear infrastructures, transport system operating equipment and their environment for design, and implementation and asset management. Methods based on the automation of model generation and model views (2D, 3D, GIS) from object databases and libraries make it easier to integrate information from designers, manufacturers and contractors. The construction of complete digital mock-up makes it easier to control railway projects, characterized by the high reliability, operability, and safety requirements, strong maintenance constraints, but also by the complexity of the interfaces, the geographic extent and the long infrastructure lifecycle. We will show you how Autodesk tools made it possible to take a step towards the open BIM on the Grand Paris Express automatic metro project and Lyon – Line E project. Our demonstration will deal with the topics of: 1) ensuring that the project data is of high quality through BIM model structuring, library of standard objects, standardization of property set; 2) saving time from design to shop-drawing and from construction to O&M by ensuring the digital continuity by using open format (IFC) and open data dictionary (bsDD = buildingSmart International) over the lifecycle of the project; 3) encouraging and improving collaboration among multidisciplinary teams by robust and smooth processes by using BIM Collaboration Format (BCF) Manager and GIS; 4) managing the infra-systems interface in linear infrastructure and station buildings; 5) automation of metro station modeling through Dynamo by a functional approach; 6) automation of linear infrastructures and systems modeling through Dynamo using object database; 7) extension of modeling to the geology.
